I entered the DJ business at the age of 15, living in Germany as a military brat, I pieced together my first sound system with my summer hire job making $3.15 an hour. I can remember getting a paycheck and going to the PX which was our Best Buy at the time and riding home with my fist piece of equipment. I had the opportunity to DJ at our school dances and at the local youth center from time to time. If I made $50 per party that was great. I would do it for free quite often. Back then and even today it just doesn’t feel like work. They say if you do something you love then you’ll never work a day in your life. I spent quite a few years playing in local night clubs around the state. At age 18 I was entertaining at roughly 150 functions a year. It took quite a few years and a variety of functions to gain the experience and creativity I have today.
The best part of my job is being able to deliver the entertainment our clients are looking for. The rewarding part is putting the pre-planning into action the day of the event and seeing to it that my clients enjoy themselves.
Not all parties are full of excitement from start to finish. Some take a lot more focus. I made a commitment a while back never to add to a dull party. I won’t sell you the world but I will give you my creativity and experience.
